Turlock - Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State San Bernardino battled for 110 minutes of action and the end result was a 1-1 tie, Friday at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex.  With the tie the Warriors are now 4-1-2 (0-1-1 CCAA), while the Coyotes are now 4-1-2 (2-0-1 CCAA).

The first goal of the match came at the 54 minute mark in the second half.  #Allison Freels# dropped a nice pass into the goal box off a corner kick, it bounced around for a second before #Marissa Dunaway# was able to find the net for her fifth goal of the season.  Just minutes after that, the Warriors had a penalty kick opportunity, but #Adrienne Sorenson# had her free kick attempt stopped by Coyote goalkeeper Laura Lyons.

The Warriors held the lead for about eighteen minutes until Casey Hirsch toook a pass from Katie Liby and was able to get the ball by Warrior keeper #Jessica Sitarz# to knot the match at 1-1.

The match would remain tied through the rest of the second half and through two, ten minute overtime periods.  Both teams had opportunities to break the tie, however, neither was able to capitalize.  The Warriors outshot the Coyotes 20 to 13 and had eight corner kicks, while CSUSB had five.

Warrior head coach #Gabe Bolton# was pleased with the effort of his team, as they played their second conference match after dropping a tough one to Sonoma State.  "We battled the whole game, competed very well and created numerous opportunities for ouselves," said Bolton.  "This a really tough conference and we just need to continue to battle and compete and the results will take care of themselves," Bolton added.

The Warriors will be back in action Sunday against Cal Poly Pomona, kickoff is set for 2:00 pm at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex.
