The new Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis program, under the direction of head coach Verek Visaraga, will make its debut this weekend when four members of the team participate in the Wilson/ITA Small Colleges Regional Championships in Pomona.

Junior Verena Preikschas, the No. 1 player for the Warriors, is seeded No. 3 in the singles draw and will make her debut on Thursday in a second round match at 11 a.m. She received a first-round bye and will watch her teammates kick off the fall season.

Sophomore Lexy Harrington will take on UC San Diego's Kimmie Dao, the No. 8 seed, at 9 a.m. on Thursday, followed by freshman Katie Eng, who will take on Sonoma State's Marina Rubinshteyn at 10 a.m.

Stanislaus' No. 2 Vanessa Reibstein, a JC transfer from Grossmont Cellege, also received a bye and will take on Cal State L.A.'s Violetta Nosareva at 11 a.m.

Preikschas and Reibstein will then pair up as the fourth-seeded doubles team in the afternoon. After sitting out the first round, the pair will play at 4:30 p.m. against a doubles-team to be determined.

Eng and Harrington are also playing in the doubles draw, taking on UCSD's Anita Athavale and Roxy Pourmirzaie Thursday afternoon.
