WALNUT CREEK — School records, game-winning goals, big wins and an offensive presence unmatched by any other player did not go unnoticed by coaches in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Thursday, Cal State Stanislaus junior forward Victor Regalado was named the CCAA Most Valuable Offensive Player.

The CCAA announced its 2009 all-conference teams Thursday morning, and a total of three Warriors received recognition. Joining Regalado is Warrior freshman midfielder Edgar Santana, who got a second-team nod, and sophomore goalkeeper Javier Rosales, who received honorable mention.

Other top CCAA honorees were Cal State Dominguez Hills defender Kevin Gallaugher (Most Valuable Defensive Player), Cal State Dominguez Hills goalkeeper Markus Dickerson (Newcomer of the Year) and Chris Chamides of Cal State L.A. (Coach of the Year).

Regalado set new CSUS CCAA-era single-season records in goals (13) and points (28). He was the conference's leading goal scorer and led all players in points per game (1.75), goals per game (0.81) and game-winning goals (six). Regalado played in at least two less conference games (13) than most of the other leaders (15 or 16) and still led the CCAA in points (20), goals (9), points per game (1.54) and goals per game (0.69) during conference games only.

Santana finished the season with four goals and three assists for 11 points in playing a key roll at midfield and forward. The freshman also had two game-winning goals for the Warriors. He was among the top five in shots taken with 58.

Rosales finished the season strong to earn CCAA Honorable Mention accolades after splitting time with freshman goalkeeper Steven Waite through the early part of the year. Rosales would go on to set a new CCAA-era CSUS single-season record for saves percentage with a .819 clip. He also cut his goals against average in half from 2008, going from 2.03 last year to 1.00 this season.

The sophomore Rosales had 59 saves and four shutouts in 2009, which move his career totals in both categories to the top three in the CCAA-era at Cal State Stanislaus. His career 140 saves are third behind Jose "Mando" Herrera (2004-07, 287) and Matt Buckman (2001-02, 146). His seven career shutouts are second behind Herrera (20).

Albert Cabrera, Ryan Larson and Martin Esqueda highlighted a group of seven Cal State San Bernardino players that were honored as all-conference. Cabrera and Larson were named to the first team while Esqueda was selected Freshman of the Year.

Cal State San Bernardino finished the regular season at 15-4-1 overall, matching the second-best record in the history of the program first set in 1990, and 11-4-1 in the CCAA, the team's best record ever in conference play since joining the CCAA in 1991.

The Coyotes, along with CCAA North Winner Sonoma State, South Division champ Cal State L.A. and defending national champion Cal State Dominguez Hills, will descend Friday upon Warrior Stadium in Turlock for the CCAA Championship Tournament.

Gallaugher was named Most Valuable Defensive Player for the second season in a row while Chamides was honored as Coach of the Year for the second time. He previously was tabbed the conference's top coach in 2004.

Chamides guided the Golden Eagles to a 17-2-1 overall record, including a 13-2-1 conference mark, the South Division title and the top seed in this week's CCAA Championship Tournament.

Cal State L.A. led all institutions with three first-team selections as senior forward Federico Cino, midfielder Aza Gomez and defender Ryan Larson were so honored. Defender Simon Volk was selected to the second team while forward Jason Swope garnered honorable mention.

Joining Cabrera and Larson as all-conference for Cal State San Bernardino were forward Obi Agwu and defender Mark Peters, who were named to the second team, and midfielders Jeremiah Marquez and Billy Pellow who earned honorable mention.

Cal State Dominguez Hills had five All-CCAA selections. Midfielder Andrew Marinez and Gallaugher were named to the first team while Dickerson and defender Marco Pulido were second-team picks. Midfielder Alex Munoz received honorable mention
