KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Conference offensive player of the year. Daktronics All-West Region. Now add another postseason award for
Victor Regalado.
Regalado has been named to the NSCAA Division II All-West Region first team as it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The teams were selected by head coaches who are members of the NSCAA.
Regalado led the Warriors to a successful season in 2009 as Cal State Stanislaus went 11-6-2 under first-year head coach
Dana Taylor. He set new CSUS California Collegiate Athletic Association-era single-season records in goals (13) and points (28).
He was the conference's leading goal scorer and led all players in points per game (1.75), goals per game (0.81) and game-winning goals (six). In 13 conference matches, Regalado led the CCAA in points (20), goals (9), points per game (1.54) and goals per game (0.69) during conference games only.
The junior forward from College Place, Wash., was named the CCAA's Most Valuable Offensive Player at the conclusion of the conference season. Regalado then was named to the Daktronic's All-West Region first team in mid-November.
Regalado now will be on the ballot as a candidate for All-American awards.
Regalado is Cal State Stanislaus' first first team All-Region player since Albert Martins earned the NSCAA All-Far West Region honors in 2005.
