SAN BERNARDINO -- The Coyotes Den wasn't so kind to Larry Reynolds for his homecoming Friday night as Cal State San Bernardino pulled away late in the game to defeat Cal State Stanislaus, 71-57.

Frank Monge led the Warriors with 11 points and Jordan Stokes pulled 10 rebounds but Stanislaus dropped its second straight and four of its last five and falls to 9-10 overall and 5-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Corey Caston scored 22 points and Devon Davis had 16 to lead CSU San Bernardino, the CCAA co-leader in the standings, to improve to 14-5 overall and 12-3 in conference play.

A Monge layout at 7:12 pulled the Warriors within three but was as close as they got as CSUSB used a 15-3 for a comfortable lead.

Reynolds built the San Bernardino program to its regional powers as he spent five seasons as head coach at CSUSB from 1997-2002 and posted 110-35 records with three conference championships and two regional titles.

The Coyotes are able to avenge a Jan. 3 loss at Warrior Arena when the Warriors held on for a 70-68 win.

The Warriors trailed by just five, 35-30, at intermission after trailing by as many as 12 points at 20-8 early on.

Stanislaus plays Cal Poly Pomona Saturday night, the Broncos beat Chico State, 69-61, Friday night in Kellogg Gym.
