PASO ROBLES — Following the 2010 CCAA Men's Golf Championships from Hunter Ranch Golf Course, head coaches in the conference selected the postseason awards, including naming Cal State Stanislaus'
John Cook as coach of the year.
Cook, in his second season at the helm, led the Warriors to a second-place finish, by one stroke to Cal State Monterey Bay. During the spring of 2010, he led the team to four tournament wins and two second place finishes in seven events.
Last year in his first season as the head coach of the program, Cook led the Warriors to a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships after two second place finishes at both the CCAA and Regional championships.
Also receiving honors on Tuesday were
Brandon Taylor and
Trevor Blair as both were named to the All-CCAA Men's Golf team by a vote of the head coaches.
Taylor was the team's stroke average leader in the spring with a win at the CSUEB Pionner Classic on March 8-9. He also posted three top five finishes. Blair had the second best average with a second place showing at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational on March 22-23.
Gene Webster of Cal State San Bernardino was named the Most Valuable Player of the Year and CSU Dominguez Hills' Ryan Indovina was the Newcomer of the Year. Dylan Jackson of Cal State Monterey Bay edged out Warrior freshman
