TURLOCK -- In their final opportunity to clear a better height or run a faster time to solidify their chance at the National Championship meet, three Warrior standouts made it count Friday night at home.

Both Kasey Burlingham and Denali Foldager broke their own school records and improved on their qualifying marks and times at the Cal State Stanislaus Twilight Qualifier. The meet was the first track meet held under the lights at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.

Burlingham broke his own Warrior Stadium record with a seasonal best in men's pole vault with a clearance of 17 feet, 7 1/2 inches. His previous best this year was 16-10 3/4. Today's mark solidified him at No. 2 in NCAA Division II. Western Washington's Ryan Brown cleared 17-7 last week.

The NCAA Division II National Championships is May 21-23 in Cary, N.C.

Also making a move in pole vault was Kasey's wife, Annie Burlingham. The indoor All-American cleared 12-3 1/2 to move up to No. 14 in the national performance list. Her previous best this year was 12-2 1/2.

In the women's 3000-meter steeplechase, Foldager broke her own school record with an impressive last chance time of 10:46.22, which move her up to 15th in the country and a likely qualifier for the national meet.

In other men's highlights, Valentin Alberto finished first in the shot put with a 51-6, just missing a provisional mark. Jerome Johnson won the 200-meter dash in 22.19 seconds.

Luther Bell had a seasonal best in the long jump with a 22-10. Connor Birthwhistle recorded personal bests in all three throwing events in the javelin (161-6), discus (87-7) and shot put (28-11 3/4).
