LOS ANGELES — The men's 4x400 meter relay team was able to slightly improve on its provisional qualifying time as the Warriors ran a close race with Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Meet.
The relay team of
Terry Gross,
Terrance Ellis,
Jesse Ooten and
Jerome Johnson ran a 3:13.72, which was slightly faster than Friday night's time at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Saturday's time was a second place finish at the meet and moves the Warriors up to 22nd in the nation.
The Warriors had clocked a season-best 3:14.05 Friday night for No. 29 on the performance list for the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships in Charlotte, N.C. on May 21-23.
Cal Poly Pomona ran a 3:13.56. The Broncos were No. 22 with a time of 3:13.83.
