CSU Stanislaus fields 14 men's and women's athletics teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, having become a member in the Fall of 1998. The University is affiliated nationally with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), Division II.

The Warriors have a winning tradition. During its 14 years of competition at the NCAA Division III level, CSU Stanislaus won 12 national golf championships, two national baseball championships and had both its men's and women's basketball teams reach the Final Four in the national tournaments.

The Warriors have been very competitive at the national level since moving up to NCAA Division II 1989-90. The 1993 and 1994 women's track seasons conclude with a Stanislaus athlete, Carrie Luis, claiming a double national championship in the 800 and 1500-meter races.

Since 1968 nearly 200 Warrior athletes have earned All-American honors.

Mission Statement


Athletics at California State University, Stanislaus has three purposes:
1. To create an environment in which student-athletes graduate;
2. To positively promote the image of the University, and
3. To create an environment in which athletic teams win.
