WARRIOR BASEBALL FIELD FACTS
Warrior Baseball Field has continually been improved since it was originally built in 1965.

Most recently, new grandstand and press box opened in February of 2015 as the latest upgrades to the facility. The updates also included a new full size inning-by-inning Daktronics left-center field.

During the summer of 2013, an indoor training facility was constructed to house three batting cages, including the pro-batter video hitting practice equipment, as well as space for team meetings and fitness equipment.

Just prior to the start of the 2014 season, stadium lights were erected to allow night games.

Future additions planned for the facility include a fan services building to include concession, box office and restroom. It will also include team laundry services and rest room for the umpires.

The recent upgrades were funded either by private funds through in-kind gifts to the University or from funds generated by a student referendum passed in 2010.

Over the course of current head coach Kenny Leonesio’s tenure, a picnic area was created down the left field line, a team clubhouse with oak lockers for each player was added, as well as an old style manual scoreboard, in right-center field. The manual scoreboard is one of a kind in the CCAA as it also displays out-of-town CCAA scores. There is also a little league wiffle ball field near the picnic area.

In January of 2009, the field had a major facelift with a brand new backstop. A low brick wall with mesh netting replaced the old steel cage behind home plate, giving fans a better view of the field as well as being closer to the action.

Many improvements were made by former head coach Jim Bowen,  including the addition of fencing, dugouts and bleachers.

In 1987, the original press box and storage facility was built. In 2000 a new scoreboard was added in left field and in 2001 the batting cages were installed.

Leonesio and his staff care for the facility including all the grounds keeping and landscape work to keep the field in immaculate condition.
